2016 Tinto Rey Dunnigan Hills Rose
89 points and Editors' Choice October, Wine Enthusiast!
Rosés of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah form the base of this pretty wine.
The Tinto Rey Rosé is a beautiful rose petal pink color and has delightful aromas of perfume and white nectarine that just beg you to take a sip. This wine is crisp and refreshing on the palate with flavors of stone fruit, cherry, white peach and a hint of sassafras on the finish.
The 2016 Rosé is a winemaker's blend of the best of the vintage. We took rosé of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Malbec, Syrah and Tannat to create a blended rosé whose quality far exceeds the sum of its parts. All varietal lots were cold fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation the different lots were evaluated for color, aromas, and flavors. Only the winemaker's favorite lots were selected for the final blend to create the special wine. Wonderfully crisp and refreshing, and truth be told a new favorite around here.
A perfect summer wine that is delicious on its own or pairs exceptionally well with pasta salad or grilled vegetables.
