The Herdsman is the culmination of Matchbook’s quest to create a premium Cabernet Sauvignon from the Dunnigan Hills.
Aromas of chocolate, pipe tobacco, red licorice and toasty oak lead to plush flavors of blueberry, blackberry, mocha and barrel spice. The texture is both weighty and smooth with soft tannins that lend an elegance to this estate grown Cab. Pair this rich and velvety Cabernet with a well-marbled steak, prime rib or pasta Bolognese.
The aromas are a burst of red berry and raspberry with a plush texture and flavors of herbs, baking spice and sweet fruit with a touch of earthiness on the back palate.
The ultimate quaffable wine with a beautiful bouquet of honeysuckle and gardenia. The flavors are a fruit bomb of mango, melons, apricot and pineapple. The natural acidity of the early-harvested grapes balances the sweet fruit leading to a lingering finish of honey and tangy citrus.
